Base unit placed on roof of vehicle. Base unit in shade/low angle sun. Base unit open, ears up, directed at Mobile unit. Mobile Unit Mobile unit = Quozl 3 (firmware Q2B21, software build 239) Battery fully charged. Held at James' shoulder height. Mobile unit open, ears up, directed at Base unit. Used AM radio with ear buds as stethoscope. At 200m "Still going fine." At 300m "Still going fine. Nothing unusual." At 500m "Normal." Trialled different locations for Base unit: * With Base unit 6m from vehicle (in centre of road), held at Petria's shoulder height, no effective difference. * With Base unit 12m from vehicle (far edge of road), held at Petria's shoulder height, metal road signs obstructing line of sight, decrease in coverage. * Returned Base unit to roof of vehicle. At 900m "Still pinging fine." "Between 700m and 800m there was a bit of loss, but I was not able to pin it down." At 1.4km "No sign of network difficulties. Still pinging fine." Test successful. Were able reproduce previous test at this location.
